What is Zyprexa used for?
Used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in adults.
May also be used for other conditions based on clinical judgment.
How should I take Zyprexa?
Can be taken with or without food.
Taken once daily.
Available as 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, 20 mg tablets.
Zydis orally disintegrating tablets available in 5–20 mg.
Typical dose: 5–20 mg/day.
Your doctor may prescribe higher doses depending on your needs.

Warnings/Precautions
Not approved for dementia‑related psychosis.
Smoking lowers olanzapine levels — dose may need adjustment.
Medication interactions
Increase levels:
- Fluvoxamine
- Ketoconazole
- Ciprofloxacin
Decrease levels:
- Omeprazole
- Cigarette smoking
Other interactions:
- Diphenhydramine
- Lorazepam/zopiclone
- Fentanyl
Avoid alcohol and illegal drugs.
