DESCRIPTION:« All Events\n       Whole-Person Care: Addressing Physical Health in Psychosis         Online      In the management of psychotic diagnoses\, mental health outcomes are the principal focus of treatment. However\, physical health is equally important. When physical health is compromised\, many of the gains made in mental well‑being can be diminished. Join us for a free webinar with Dr. Michael Sarin (Retired Staff Physician; Diabetes\, Exercise and Healthy Lifestyle Program\, University Health Network) who is the parent of a son diagnosed with schizophrenia. He and his wife have come to understand firsthand that patients with schizophrenia face “diagnostic overshadowing\,” where physical symptoms are overlooked or misattributed to their mental illness. Dr. Sarin will share the critical lessons he has learned about his son’s physical health over the past 30 years.
